"With their actual military defenders all but annihilated, the city of Katun's Civil Defense battalions - by this time largely crewed by volunteer civilians, youths and scattered reserve troops - would make their desperate last stand in the ravaged commerce district. Rapidly converted from their constabulary/riot duty load-out to combat weaponry just in advance of the siege, the handful of CD-II 'Toad' mechs would prove crucial in the intense fighting that would follow."

Painted in Photoshop, just as an exercise in digital painting. I designed the mech from a small idle sketch I made on a sticky note during some downtime at work.

the upper sky needs some details (clouds maybe) because i first mistook it for being underwater.....

Guess the moon, stars, obvious people in the background along the bottom fighting, building in the background, and deep orange that would never be underwater didn't give that away for you? Interesting.

i looked at it again, and am thinking my impression (and i take things the way they come, while sometimes strange things come along the way, so i thought it wasnt That realistic, but underwatery instead, you know.....) comes from the mech having Exact the same color mood as the sky. and this happens very seldomly (but given - at night it often does), except from underwater....
guess thats why.
still some clouds wouldnt hurt
